The job market is slowly coming around and while the openings are not nearly as numerous as a few years ago we're seeing a steady increase in available positions.

We are cautiously optimism for the job market for the remaining year and are starting to hear projections for staff increases in 2011.  it's a perfect time to update your resume, brush up your interviewing skills and get your career on track.  

We are seeing the market for temporary employees, or candidates willing to work temp to perm improve significantly.  If you are between jobs, a temp to perm situation gives you an opportunity to earn some income, prove yourself, and to get a feel for a new Firm before committing to permanent employment.  There is an emerging market for temporary employees at all levels and in every job catagory.

     Monday - Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm
    Manage the day-to-day case/transaction and database management; reviews, drafts, and prepares legal documents;
    Conducts due diligence and research. Exhibits technical skills consistent with new and existing Firm technology and is proficient with respect to filing procedures and filing jurisdictions. Knows bankruptcy court structure, Bankruptcy Code, Federal and local rules, ECF system. Establishes pleadings, correspondence, document files and databases; assists in hearing and trial preparation; Monitors and distributes docket updates; prepares case calendar and calculates deadlines.
    Obtains and organizes financial data; assists with fee applications. Prepares hearing Agendas; tracks motions and orders; acts as liaison with co-counsel and chambers. Prepare documents for filing with court in accordance with local rules and judge’s rules. In cases filed in the S.D.N.Y. knowledge of the conversion process and the ability to file documents on the electronic filing system. Handle Telephone inquiries from creditors, client, and other counsel. Assist attorneys with conflicts review process. Exhibit Technical skills consistent with new and existing technology and be proficient at filing procedures and filing jurisdictions.

    Reports to the Manager of the Paralegal Department

  • 3+ years of experience in a Debtor Bankruptcy law firm practice group.
    Must have Law firm experience
    Candidate must be self-confident, energetic, efficient, motivated and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
    Candidate must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
    BA/BS with strong academic record.
    Strong attention to detail.
    Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to confidentially and graciously interact with Attorneys, Partners, Paralegals and all staff members.
    Strong clerical and typing skills as well as proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point
    The position also requires the ability to travel and to work overtime as necessary
