The job market is slowly coming around and while the openings are not nearly as numerous as a few years ago we're seeing a steady increase in available positions.

We are cautiously optimism for the job market for the remaining year and are starting to hear projections for staff increases in 2011.  it's a perfect time to update your resume, brush up your interviewing skills and get your career on track.

  • GENERAL SUMMARY:
     
    This position supports and executes the marketing, business development and communication efforts of the Washington office and the Firm’s Financial Services Group.
     
    PERSONAL CONTACTS:
     
    The Project Manager must be able to interact at all levels of the Firm. Most of the day-to-day interaction will be with lawyers and other members of the marketing staff.
     
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
     
    ·         Coordinate and manage all aspects of seminars, client receptions, and other client-related events, including invitation mailings and response tracking, venue selection, on-site hospitality and oversight, AV and other logistics, and catering.
    ·         Attend events and assist in registration and other on-site activities.
    ·         Produce companion presentation materials.
    ·         Oversee compilation, printing, and distribution. 
    ·         Assist with PowerPoint presentations.
    ·         Serve as primary contact for production and assembly of customized marketing pitch material. 
    ·         Provide support for RFP responses.
    ·         Administer and supervise all marketing-related office mailings, including invitations, client updates, and attorney announcements.
    ·         Collect articles and other publications for web site posting.
    ·         Research industry organizations for partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
    ·         Assist with developing tools and processes for post-event follow-up activity.
    ·         Research new client opportunities, using Firm systems, library resources, and internet resources.
    ·         Coordinate and update relevant directory listings and survey information.
    ·         Maintain and track contacts in the Firm’s Interaction database to produce mailings and reports.
    ·         Help develop and oversee budgets for events and other projects.
     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
     
    ·         Excellent project management, organizational, and planning skills.
    ·         Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    ·         Understanding of the marketing functions and needs and expectations of attorneys and clients.
    ·         Excellent writing skills.
    ·         Proficient with Microsoft office, including PowerPoint.
    ·         Knowledge of the Firm’s policies and procedures.
    ·         Detail-oriented and organized.
    ·         Ability to prioritize and coordinate own work.
    ·         Good interpersonal skills.
    ·         Polite, professional, positive manner.
    ·         Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    ·         Ability to function in a collaborative organization and be a team player.
     
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
     
    ·         College degree.
    ·         4-6 years' experience in a business development or marketing role in legal or other professional services.
