The job market is slowly coming around and while the openings are not nearly as numerous as a few years ago we're seeing a steady increase in available positions.

We are cautiously optimism for the job market for the remaining year and are starting to hear projections for staff increases in 2011.  it's a perfect time to update your resume, brush up your interviewing skills and get your career on track.  

We are seeing the market for temporary employees, or candidates willing to work temp to perm improve significantly.  If you are between jobs, a temp to perm situation gives you an opportunity to earn some income, prove yourself, and to get a feel for a new Firm before committing to permanent employment.  There is an emerging market for temporary employees at all levels and in every job catagory.

    • Under attorney supervision, assist with drafting motions
    • Preparing and filing Proofs of Claim
    • Electronic court filing (ECF) and service of pleadings, and generally facilitating the filing of documents with the bankruptcy court
    • Communicating with courts re: hearing dates and procedures
    • Cite checking and blue book formatting of briefs
    • Research using Bloomberg, SEC databases, Pacer, and Westlaw or Lexis
    • Discovery and trial preparation for adversary proceedings
    • Creating and maintaining hearing and response deadline calendars for large bankruptcy cases
    • Supporting all bankruptcy attorneys re: daily requests.

    • Must be computer literate, and proficient in the use of bankruptcy related software applications and on-line sources.
    • Must be detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, organized, multi-task, prioritize work flow, possess strong problem solving skills and understand/follow written and oral instructions.
    • Must be team orientated and be able to communicate effectively - both orally and in writing
    • Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Flexibility to work overtime is critical, with ability to travel for extended periods of time if necessary  
    • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
    • Minimum of BA required. Paralegal certificate from ABA approved Paralegal program preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 plus years of Bankruptcy experienced required.
